life and health and work

Morning, friends!

I was doing the Love Bomb thing during the latter half of 2023, and then I took a break for the Christmas holiday but never came back. I ended up having to deal with a few issues at once (and still am, actually): loss of a job, some personal health stuff, some family things, etc.

I'm still in a place where I need to take care of myself and focus on bigger things, so I'm going to do that. Love Bomb will be on indefinite hiatus for the time being. I appreciate you all being a part of it!

In the meantime, feel free to unsubscribe if you want. Or alternatively, you can move over to my personal email list, which is much more work-focused, but definitely still has a lot of . . . me . . . in it, haha. That list covers the work I'm doing at the intersection of immersive storytelling and AI technology. (For a sample of what I do, here's the writeup of the big project I'm building right now: https://natestpierre.me/sentient-ai-universe-the-sau/)

Unsubscribe is at the bottom, as usual. If you'd like to move over to my personal list, tap the button. It'll automatically add you to the other list, and then send you to my homepage. Hope you have a good rest of your week!

Nate

P.S. If and when I start up Love Bomb again, I'll put a notice out on the personal list.

Love Bomb

Every Tuesday I come up with an idea to make a difference for someone in a small, personal, creative way, then I send out that idea as a mission assignment to everyone in our group. Over the next week, we all spend 10 minutes to accomplish it in our own way for people in our own lives.

Today (Monday night as I write this) is Christmas Day, and next week around this time is New Year's Day, so I'm taking the time off from love bombs. After that it'll be the end of the holiday season, and into the teeth of the long, cold winter. God willing we'll all see it through to the other side together :) It's been another weird year for me, full of stops and starts and big personal/career changes and more than a little stress. The kinds of things most people go through every five years...

From the Beginning The Background I just got back from taking a walk with my brother during a break in my work. It was a nice piece of downtime during this very busy month where I'm transitioning myself into a new (much more fun and creative) career as an AI developer. It made me realize that he's been there through all of my twists and turns, ups and downs, and personal growth over the years, and I'm thankful for him. The Mission This week, spend 10 minutes to acknowledge someone who was...

Reconnect With An Old Friend The Background This month I'm pivoting my career a little bit, going from a boring old marketing director to a freelance creator again - something I've really missed in my life. This time, instead of building new things on the social web, I'm becoming an AI developer, with a specialty in new forms of storytelling with all the new tools and possibilities open to us. I'm also re-opening my personal email list, which has been dormant for 8 years. It's going to be...
